Works have finally completed on Liverpool One, Paradise Street, the largest single project in Core’s history. The project, with a value in excess of £14m, was awarded in 2004 with Core having a permanent site presence ever since.

Core has worked hard to install the infrastructure for electricity, gas and water since starting on site five years ago. Core was also responsible for extensive cable disconnections and diversions for the scheme.

The Liverpool development is being delivered by Grosvenor and Liverpool City Council which is the largest of its kind in Europe, The 1.65 million sq ft shopping centre features 160 stores, including flagship names such as Debenhams and John Lewis. Phase one of the development opened on May 29th 2008.

James Tyson, Regional Manager for England and Wales of Core said “Working on a project of this size and magnitude has provided Core with extensive knowledge in managing the typical day to day problems associated with a project of this scale and technical complexity.

This experience will prove invaluable in helping us secure and deliver similar types of schemes in the future. A huge congratulations’ to everyone involved in this project!”

The project office will close at the end of February, with any future queries handled from Core’s office in Birchwood
