Traffic Management - notice periods

The new Traffic Management Act (England & Wales) and Traffic Scotland Act will come into effect on 1st April 2008. The aim is to help manage traffic congestion more effectively by placing a Network Management duty on the Roads Authorities. The updated Acts also mean the notice period required is now dependant on:

Works duration (days)
Notice
England & Wales:
Based on works duration, not street sensitivity
Up to 3
Up to 10
Over 10
3 days
10 days
3 month advance notice
Scotland:
Based on combination of works duration and street sensitivity
Up to 10

Over 10
1 month advance (traffic sensitive) and 7 days (non traffic sensitive)
3 month advance notice

To minimise any inconvenience and possible delay to your schedule Core will determine the works duration of your project on receipt of an enquiry. If a 3 month advance notice is required we will contact you to discuss your development and the best way of applying prior to acceptance.

If you have any questions on the changes please contact customer services on 08707 771153 (England & Wales) or 08707 771154 (Scotland).
