A shiny new beginning

Core landed a key role in this unique public-private joint venture between Wilson Bowden, Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire and Corus Plc to create a new town on the site of the former Ravenscraig Steelworks, near Motherwell in Lanarkshire. 

Core will be providing multi utility connections to the new town, which will cover 1,125 acres and will be developed over 17 years to include 3,500 houses, a business park, hotels, schools, sports stadium, retail and leisure space.

Core has been involved in the programme from an early stage and will be providing:

• Full multi utility connections
• Design and full project management
• Support by Core business team
• Upgrading work of primary substation
