Look both ways before crossing

Doe Lea is a development of 192 new properties on the site of an ex-mining village, close to Chesterfield in Derbyshire.

Core secured the £635,000 contract to provide a full multi utility solution to this key housing regeneration site.

The chief challenge was how to connect the utilities across a busy dual carriageway, itself just a few hundred yards from a major M1 junction.

Working closely with Gleeson Homes, Core came up with the novel idea of using directional drilling under the road to minimise disruption on the public highways.

Core will also be fitting a new 500KVA substation as part of the contract.
